Today's visit will be a delight. De Panne is a fascinating Belgian seaside resort and port. Great beaches and promenade with a fascinating array of shops and restaurants. We then travel to Adinkerke – an opportunity to shop for bargains at the duty paid outlet. Don’t forget your passport.

Each year visitors throng the streets of Lille for the Braderie. It's an enormous boot fair! Anyone can set up a stall - they line 200km of pavements selling paintings, antiques, furniture and junk of every description. Part of the celebrations is eating moules-frites-mussels and chips. Traditionally, after eating you leave your empty shells outside the stall or restaurant - they compete to see who amasses the biggest pile. The event is great fun and worth a visit.
